Mike Hargrove is from Perryton
A native of Perryton, Texas, Mike Hargrove played baseball for the Texas Rangers in the 1970s and ’80s. His career was marked by eighty home runs and 686 runs batted in. He was named AL Rookie of the Year in 1974 and the Sporting News Rookie of the Year in 1975, the first Ranger to receive either of these honors. He also made the AL All-Star team in 1975. Hargrove was best known for his ability to move runners around the bases and not give an easy out.
