The lake is home to several recreational areas managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The park has day use areas, boat ramps, and overnight camping. The area also borders the San Gabriel and Pecan Grove wildlife areas. Crappie are the most common sportfish in Granger Lake, but largemouth bass are also present in small numbers.
The lake is home to several hiking and biking trails. The Comanche Bluff Trail is accessible from two different locations. Hikers can access the trail from either County Road 496 or Taylor Park.
