S Street Dog Park

The Phillips Collection
The Phillips Collection in Dupont offers visitors the chance to view more than 4,000 works of art from a wide variety of art periods. These range from impressionism to modernism to contemporary art. The Admiral

The Home Course

When the land was originally purchased, it was intended to be an industrial site. DuPont, Weyerhaeuser and the Washington State Department of Ecology worked together to clean up the site. They also worked with the Nisqually Tribe and other stakeholders. During the remediation process, more than 50,000 cubic yards of soil were removed from the former hazardous waste landfill.
The Home Course is located on land that was once owned by the Nisqually Tribe, an ancient tribe of the Pacific Northwest. Native Americans settled in the area before Europeans began trading here. In the early 1800s, the Hudson’s Bay Company established a trading post in the area. Later, in 1906, a chemical company called DuPont purchased the land and developed an explosives plant. In the 1970s, a forest products manufacturer named Weyerhauser bought the property and developed a private golf course for employees. In 2007, the Pacific Northwest Golf Association acquired the course, and in 2012, the Washington State Golf Association established their headquarters on the property.
Hudson’s Bay Day

The community is home to several historic sites and festivals, including Hudson’s Bay Day. The DuPont area was first settled by the Nisqually Tribe. Later, it was settled by the Hudson’s Bay Company as the site of a trading post. The Hudson’s Bay Company’s DuPont Powder Works also settled in the area, making dynamite. The company left a mark on the area, and the city still honors its history at the DuPont Historical Museum.
