Lithia Springs Park

Lithia Springs County Park
When you want to go swimming and enjoy a beautiful natural setting, Lithia Springs County Park is a great option. The water at this park flows year-round at a temperature of 72 degrees. It is the perfect place for a family outing or a romantic date.
This quaint nature preserve is located in Hillsborough County. This area is known for its year-round spring and small campground. It’s a great place to unwind in the Florida sun and connect with nature. Camping sites and secluded swamps are just some of the features of the park.
Lithia Springs County Park has a swimming area with lifeguards on duty. Visitors must purchase an entry wristband and wear it when entering the water. During the summer months, the swimming area can become very crowded, so it’s important to wear the proper swimming attire.
Lithia Springs Park is a 160-acre nature preserve. The park has a natural spring that pumps water at a temperature of 72 degrees year-round. The park also has two swimming pools that are surrounded by a beautiful earthen dike. The park is open from 8am to 7pm.

Lithia Springs Girls Ball Field
Lithia Springs will soon have a brand new girls ball field, replacing two parks that were destroyed in the September 2009 floods. The new park will feature four ball fields, two of which will be used for fast-pitch girls softball. The park will be run by Douglas County Parks and Recreation.
The park was once known as Woodrow Wilson Park, and it was surrounded by apartment complexes and homes. Its location next to Sweetwater Creek made it prone to flooding, especially during heavy rains. The park was also flooded during the 2009 floods in the Southeastern United States. The park was located off Mount Vernon Road, near Skyview Drive, and was adjacent to Lithia Springs Comprehensive High School.
Lithia Springs’ big girls’ basketball team dominated the first half, but fell behind in the second half. The Lady Lions took a 26-26 lead in the third quarter when Kiana Johnson scored seven points. After that, Ashford answered back with a classic three-point play, while Johnson and Boykin each scored four points.

This trail is a hidden gem. A two-hour guided paddle takes you to the water with a knowledgeable guide who points out wildlife and interesting landmarks along the way. A great part of the experience is learning about the history of the area. The nearby Sweetwater Creek State Park was once a mill site, but was abandoned during the Civil War. The area would eventually become a suburb of Atlanta.
