Cedar Creek State Park

This state park contains over 2,588 acres of rolling hills and forested land. There are 14 miles of hiking trails, fishing ponds, and family play areas to explore. There is no cell service at this park, but it’s clean and quiet. It is located south of Glenville, about 4 miles east of US route 33/119.
This park features early 1900s furnishings like a wood desk and potbellied stove. Visitors can also enjoy miniature golf at the park’s miniature golf course. It also hosts regular events. During the summer months, it is open to the public on Saturdays.
The park features three lakes and 14 miles of hiking trails. There are also three picnic shelters and an air-conditioned recreation building with a kitchen. There are also two tennis courts and a mini golf course. During the summer months, there is a seasonal naturalist on site.
High Falls hiking trails
The High Falls hiking trail in Glenville is a short walk off Pine Creek Road. It features a 150-foot waterfall cascading down two tiers of cliffs in the Tuckasegee Gorge. The hiking trail is rated moderate with a steep descent and elevation gain.
The trail starts at the Pines recreation area and descends 0.7 miles to the river below the dam. The High Falls hiking trail starts on a gravel road. The first mile of the trail is on private property. There are signs reminding hikers that they should respect private property and don’t camp or drive on the property. A short 0.2 mile later, the trail descends to a wide bridge over Shoal Creek. From here, you’ll find two waterfalls. The smaller waterfall is located halfway up the trail, while the larger waterfall is near the end of the trail. There are also several pools where you can see salamanders.
A parking area is located along the road. To access the trail, you’ll need to enter the park through a gate. From there, follow the trail to the falls. The trail is well graded and easy to follow, though it is steep in some places and features lots of steps.
Schenectady County Airport
