Homecoming Sprint Car Parade

The annual Gibsonburg Homecoming Sprint Car Parade kicked off the city’s Homecoming Festival on Friday night. The festival will run until midnight on Saturday and concludes with fireworks. The event also includes a donut mile and other activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ideal Bakery. Registration for the donut mile begins at 4:30 p.m. on Friday at the shelter house in Williams Park. The Homecoming Parade will start at noon on Saturday.

Schedel Arboretum & Gardens

Schedel Arboretum & Gardens is a wonderful outdoor attraction located in Gibsonburg, PA. The gardens are home to over 10,000 species of annual and exotic plants, as well as a bonsai shelter. Visitors can also enjoy themed garden displays and self-guided tours of the property. There are also exhibits by local, regional, and international artists.

The Schedel Arboretum & Gardens is the legacy of Joseph and Marie Schedel. They had a passion for the arts and nature, and their vision has come to fruition. In 1929, the couple purchased 100 acres of land near the Victorian mansion and began to create an arboretum around their property. They planted many beautiful plants, including Japanese maple, 16 different species of pine, cucumber and umbrella magnolia, Japanese silver bell, various beech and bamboo, and nearly fifty varieties of lilac.

Creek Bend Farm

This farm is located along the banks of Muddy Creek. It features a 30-acre Ohio Certified Tree Farm and a 190-acre property listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The farm is also a recognized Century Farm and has been restored as an educational site. Visitors can explore riparian habitat, woodland habitat, and active farmland on the farm’s trails. It also has a rentable barn for events and activities.

Nearby the city, Creek Bend Farm is a great place to enjoy nature. It is home to more than 10,000 annual plants and exotic trees. There is also a bonsai shelter and themed garden displays. There are self-guided tours available and there are also special exhibits by local and international artists.

White Star Park

If you are looking for some outdoor fun, White Star Park is one of the best places to visit in the Gibsonburg area. This park has over 800 acres of beautiful scenery, including the White Star Quarry. The water in this freshwater lake can be up to 80 feet deep, and the temperature varies from under 50 degrees in the winter to 70 degrees in the summer.

Diving is an activity that can be enjoyed year-round. The diving concession at White Star Quarry is open from 8 a.m. to dark during the months of April and December. During the summer months, the park hosts night dives on Saturday nights. Additionally, if you are a certified diver, you can try ice diving. However, you will need to reserve a spot ahead of time and pay for it at the concession.
