The trail to Maxwell Falls is 0.8 miles long. It takes you along the bottom of a cliff face and then follows a creek. Afterwards, it splits into two parts. The first part of the trail leads to the waterfall itself, while the second part takes you to the upper trailhead and Cliff Loop Trail.
