Old-school Texas BBQ is served here, featuring ribs, chicken, sausage, brisket, pork, and other BBQ favorites. The place also offers sandwiches and daily lunch specials, as well as ice-cold beer. Located in an old train depot, the restaurant is air-conditioned inside, but still has a country feel. Its unique location provides an intimate atmosphere right in the heart of downtown Brenham.

“LJ’s” is named after the owner’s grandmother, Laura Jean. This new barbecue joint has been a hit since opening three years ago, and it’s one of the town’s best new restaurants. However, it’s far from the only place in town to get a delicious barbecue meal.
