It was located on the second floor of the J. A. Harrison Building. The building was used for many years, but the newspaper was located there. It is also where Harry S. Truman announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate in his first campaign.
Athletic fields
If you’re planning on hosting an event or a team game at an athletic field in Auxvasse, you’ll need to book ahead of time. Reservations must be made at least seven days in advance. The cost for using unlighted fields is $15 per hour, and $30 per hour for lighted fields. It is important to reserve your space early because fields are subject to change, and you may not be able to use them if the weather is inclement.
Golf courses
Auxvasse has more than ten golf courses, with an average grade of 7.7. The courses offer the perfect setting for a relaxing day at the links. Visitors to the area can make tee time reservations in advance or call the course to see if there is space available. Walk-ins are also welcome and will be accommodated if available. The golf course is open daily, from 7 a.m. to sunset.
Educational institutions
There are a variety of educational institutions in Auxvasse, MO. From trade schools to universities, you can find a program that fits your interests. You can train to become a HVAC technician or a welding technician, or you can pursue a degree in medical technology. There are also online programs available in business management and criminal justice. Many of these institutions offer financial aid for recent graduates, and some even have evening or weekend classes.
Libraries
The Daniel Boone Regional Library will launch a bookmobile in Auxvasse on December 3 to make its monthly stops around the community. The bookmobile will carry about 3,000 books, DVDs, and CDs. On average, about 20 people take 100 books home from the bookmobile each time it rolls into town. Fugit has been driving the bookmobile for three years and says she knows most of the faces and names of the people who stop by twice a month.
