The building was originally known as the Grand Theater and opened in 1925. It closed in 1938 but reopened a few years later as the Avalon Theater. The theater offers theater training and community films. It can seat 400 people. You can watch a film, enjoy a musical, or watch a live theater performance in its auditorium.
The historic Avalon Theater in Larimore was given to the town by the Sickel twins. The city has been able to use the theatre for a variety of events, from town meetings to dance classes. The Larimore High School drama department has also used the theater.
