The organization was established in 1993 and was incorporated in January 1994. Donna Porter was the first director and was supported by the Smith Horticultural Trust of England. The garden’s concept was approved by the Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board in 2002. The garden also features nine themed gardens. The garden’s timber-framed event hall was completed in 2005.
