For example, the South Arkansas Watermelon Festival, a free public festival, is held here. Other highlights include a giant watermelon auction, seed spitting contests, and melon by the slice. This festival is held each year on August 9-11.

The South Arkansas Arboretum is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Eldorado, Arkansas. The arboretum is home to several rare species of plants. It is also a renowned outdoor performance venue. Located at 117 East Cedar Street, this venue was built during the time of the oil industry in El Dorado.
