Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure Park
If you are looking for an eco-park that will give you a unique experience, you’ll love Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures. Located between Port Douglas and Cairns, this eco-park is an award-winning facility filled with native Australian animals. Visitors can take a lagoon cruise and learn all about crocodiles, snakes, and other native fauna. They can also learn about the local ecosystems from educational presentations and displays.

Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures Park is one of the best places to see crocs in the wild. Visitors can also experience the crocs’ stealth on boat cruises. Boat tickets are included with admission, but you must make sure to book them in advance.
Savoury & Sweet Bowen Food Tour
The Savoury & Sweet Bowen Food Walk takes in Bowen’s many unique restaurants and food purveyors. The tour reflects the island’s cultural diversity and includes stops at seven different locations to sample local cuisine and history. The tour also takes in Bowen’s heritage orchard, world’s smallest candy store, and more.
The food tour starts from the Visitor Information Centre, where you can get maps, trail guides, and even some Bowen merchandise. The group is small, consisting of Jan, Akira, and a food writer. At our first stop, we sampled the local fayre, including sausage rolls and steak pies. After the meal, we indulged in ice cream and homemade organic chocolate.
Next, we’ll stop at Bowen Island, an outdoor playground and foodie’s paradise. Try the eggs bennie brunch at the Bowen Island Cafe, which offers award-winning espresso. While we’re here, we can also stop by Candy in the Cove, the world’s smallest candy store. It’s home to Disney-themed Pez dispensers and Chickn Bones.
After our tour, we’ll head to the pub for a delicious lunch or dinner. While our tour is mainly focused on food, we’ll also visit the local wine shop and explore some of the local wineries. We’ll also try our hand at a few local foods, such as charcuterie and smoked salmon. If you’re in the mood for a more relaxed atmosphere, you can head to the Snug Bistro in Snug Cove.
