Tukwila is a suburban city in King County, Washington. It is just south of Seattle. It has a population of 21,798 as of the 2020 census. The city offers plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. Fort Dent Park

The fort was a winter village for the Duwamish Indian tribe and later served as a small military blockhouse. It was then turned into a park by King County in 1968. At one time, a Washington National Guard company constructed a military blockhouse there.
Tukwila has many parks that offer fun for the entire family. The city is home to the Museum of Flight, 20 parks, and twelve miles of multi-use trails. The garden is a one-of-a-kind place. It contains the celebrated Seike Japanese Garden and the Elda Behm Paradise Garden. The two gardens were moved from their original location after being threatened with demolition during the third runway project at SeaTac Airport.

The site is also home to rare species of flora and fauna. This site was important to Native Americans and was threatened by development. In 2004, the Friends of the Hill partnership bought the land and began the process of restoring it to its original state. The organization is working to conserve the area’s ecosystem and to engage the community through volunteer-based habitat restoration.
To reach the Preserve by car, take I-5 to Exit 158. This exit will take you to the Boeing Access Road, which will intersect with East Marginal Way and Tukwila International Blvd. Then, drive east to S 115th Street, which is about 0.2 miles away.
