Sing Out Loud Music Festival

If you’re looking for a free festival that has a variety of genres and acts, check out the Sing Out Loud Music Festival in Starl. The festival is taking place on September 21, and there are plenty of reasons to attend. The festival kicks off with a full moon extravaganza, and headliner Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band will be on stage next Thursday. Other events include a 5K run and dance festival.

In addition to Ringo’s “All-Starr Band” performing Beatles songs, there was a special tribute concert that celebrated the music of The Beatles. The event featured The Beatles’ ‘What Goes On’, “Yellow Submarine,” “Africa,” and “I’m Not in Love.” The audience was transported back in time as the band performed a few songs from their career.

Full Moon Extravaganza

The Full Moon Extravaganza is back, and you are invited to enjoy a variety of musical genres. The event kicks off the sixth season of free concerts and includes a 5K run and a dance festival. It will also feature performances by Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band.

Golfing

Nature Center

The Nature Center in Starr is set in a historic barn that was originally a 20th century restaurant. The center is a part of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ environmental education program. Visitors can take nature walks and hikes through the center, and learn about local wildlife. The center also features a folk music concert series. The center is open to the public seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Children will learn about the natural world through hands-on activities and games. Campers will also have the opportunity to use dip nets to catch bugs and aquatic critters. They will also learn about the different types of birds and play games that help them learn about survival. While there, they’ll also learn how to spot animal trails, tracks, and signs.

The Nature Center in Starr is located inside Starr’s Cave Park and Preserve, which is a state nature preserve. The park features two miles of hiking trails and a section of the Flint River Trail. The park and preserve contains a diverse range of species and natural history, and is home to the Des Moines County Conservation Environmental Education Program.

The Starr’s Cave is a natural cave that was formed over time by water erosion. The cave is roughly a football field long. The only way to enter the cave is to hunker down until your belly is slithering. Visitors are also allowed to stand up in a small room at the end of the cave. This area is a popular hangout for bats. Sadly, the cave is not open to the public indefinitely, but you can enjoy wildlife from the comfort of a cabin in a cozy home.
