Patterson’s first major survey exhibition opened at the Perez Art Museum Miami in 2018. Paterson’s museum features large photorealist works and new abstract paintings. The exhibit also features a video made by Leflange. The Paterson Museum offers guided tours by appointment. The museum was founded in 1925. Originally, it operated in an assembly room of Danforth Public Library and included items of natural history donated by local residents. It later relocated to a carriage house owned by Nathan Barnert, a wealthy philanthropist and former mayor of the city.
The museum features artifacts and a collection of aircraft. The museum’s Wedell-Williams Aviation Collection focuses on the legacy of two pioneers in the aviation industry from Patterson. It has a boat lake

Boat Lake was created in 1864 during Civil War grading operations, when soldiers and officers began to fill ravines and fill in a lake. After the Civil War, Baltimoreans began to use the lake as a skating pond. In 1865, the Board of Public Park Commission recognized its worthiness and expanded the lake to its current size. It also added a brick retaining wall around the lake edge and a small island, along with plantings.
The lake is accessible by boat, and there is great fishing. Visitors can enjoy a day or an evening out on the lake. Camping is possible at the lake’s flat camping areas, including the south valley. Camping at the lake does not require a special permit.
