The local railroads began to be interested in the water park, promising special promotions to visitors who spent the night. However, the new water park was not able to attract enough interest and funds from local residents. As a result, the company was forced to relocate to Houston.
The Splash Kingdom water park is located near a busy intersection on University Drive. It is the first water park in Texas to open on a Friday.
