There are many things to do in Millstadt. There are plenty of places to eat, and the local bar scene is quite active. You can also visit one of the many local garden stores. The city has a lot of history to explore, so you should definitely make the time to visit. But if you want to see a different side of Millstadt, try one of the many activities the town has to offer.

Eckert’s Country Store

Eckert’s Country Store and Farms is the largest family-owned pick-your-own apple orchard in the United States, and its history dates back to 1837. The Eckert family has owned and operated retail, farming, and entertainment businesses throughout southwest Illinois for more than a century. The farm offers pick-your-own fruit during the growing season, and the farm store & garden center features a restaurant and a country store.

Eckert’s Orchards began as a small roadside fruit stand more than 175 years ago, and today it is one of the best pick-your-own orchards in the country. The farm is a favorite among Midwest families and is a thriving center of agri-tourism. In addition to its retail operation, Eckert’s Farms has also helped develop hybrid crops, including the EverCrisp apple.

While the farm is a great place for families to spend the afternoon, this Millstadt country store is also a fun destination for groups of all ages. Children can take part in activities such as goat feeding and tractor rides. For adults, there are also cooking and wine classes. The store also hosts birthday parties and office parties.

During the growing season, Eckert’s has many fruits and vegetables that are available to pick. The farm also has a restaurant, greenhouse, and ice cream shop. In addition to apples, peaches, and tomatoes, you can purchase fresh vegetables from the farm. They also have seasonal produce, pumpkins, and Christmas trees. You can pick your own produce or visit the farms for seasonal pick-your-own events.
