Skate park
The City of Gregory is considering adding a skate park to its downtown area. The city has a small parking lot, and it has the potential to expand into a larger space if approved. The proposed park would take up about a third of the 90,000-square-foot parking lot. The idea was supported by Parks Board members at a March meeting. The new park is being led by the Child & Adult Mentoring Programs (CHAMPS) and Parent for Skateboards. It will feature features that will appeal to beginning and intermediate skaters, while also providing a gathering place for the community. Anyone is welcome to skateboard. It is expected that construction will begin in early 2024.
A skateboard shop is available in the park, and the park is open Monday through Friday from 2:30 to 8 p.m. It is also open on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The facility is also open for private events and birthday parties. There are even a few free skates for kids on Fridays.
The city of Gregory has several skate parks for skateboarders to choose from. The Wells Street skate park is three thousand square feet and features ledges, ramps, grind rails, and stairs. Waterpark
