Keith Andres Bike Park

The village of Carpentersville recently completed a $70,000 project to improve the park entryway and build a new information kiosk. The park features a skills area, downhill trail and terrain park. The entire project is consistent with the village’s vision for the area. The park is named for former Carpentersville resident Keith Andres, who died in combat during the Vietnam War. A park dedication ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 30, at 5 p.m.

The Chicago Area Mountain Bikers helped develop the park, which is located near the Fox River. It has a 25-acre mountain bike facility with skills areas, a downhill trail, pump tracks, a playground, and jumps. A bike rental shop is located nearby. The park is close to the Fox River Trail and Carpenter Park.

There are several bike paths throughout the park. There is also a practice putting green and a full-service bar. During the summer months, the park also features a 12-screen movie theater with cheap summer Wednesday admission. Despite its size, the auditoriums feature luxury recliners, 4K projectors and 7.1 surround sound. It also offers free soda and popcorn refills.

The city’s public works department has been working to improve the bike park’s amenities and infrastructure. The park is being expanded to include more pathways and benches. The city is also seeking grant money to install a pump track in the park to move bikers around a loop using gravity.

The city is home to several major venues for sporting events and concerts. Nearby Spring Hill Mall features several famous chains including Red Lobster, Denny’s, Taco Bell, and the Brunner Family Forest Reserve. There are also many restaurants and entertainment venues, including a Cinemark multiplex.
