Boiling Springs State Park

Boiling Springs State Park is just six miles northeast of Woodward, Oklahoma. It was created during the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The park is great for hiking, with five trails and 150 picnic tables. It also has three pavilions with electrical outlets and a grill. The Ahl brothers also improved the town’s infrastructure, beautifying the area around the lake and creating the Railroad Park.

Gardner-Webb University

Boiling Springs, North Carolina is home to the coeducational Gardner-Webb University, a Baptist institution. The university is the youngest Baptist college in the state and is located near Shelby. The college traces its roots to the 1905 founding of Boiling Springs High School. Some of its notable alumni include Wilbur J. Cash and Dewey Whitaker, who went on to become the president of Lehigh University.

Located on more than 225 acres, the campus is home to eight distinct degree programs. In addition to classrooms, students can participate in outdoor activities. The college offers fitness classes in the Tucker Student Center, and the Suttle Wellness Center offers individualized training sessions.
