The city of Hallsville is located in Harrison County, Texas. It is situated 13 miles west of the county seat, Marshall, along U.S. Highway 80. According to the 2010 census, the population of Hallsville was 3,577. It was 2,772 in the 2000 census. As of the 2020 census, the estimated population was 4,277.

Martin Creek Lake

Martin Creek Lake is a power plant lake that is home to a diverse fish community. White bass, crappie, and other legal-sized fish populate the lake. It is located in Rusk County, just south of Hallsville and three miles southwest of Tatum on Texas Highway 43. The lake was impounded in 1974 as cooling water for the Hallsville power plant.
