SeaQuake Brewery
A family-friendly entertainment destination, SeaQuake Brewery opened in July 2016, taking over the former Jefferson State Brewing facility on Front Street in Crescent City. The brewery features a 15-barrel brewhouse and specializes in craft beer. Visitors can enjoy a tasting of the brewery’s flagship brew, and coastal-American fare.
The restaurant features seafood and desserts. SeaQuake uses ingredients sourced locally, including breads and cheese from Bakery-by-The-Sea. The restaurant also features a wide selection of brick oven pizzas. The menu also offers other options, such as coffee, stout, and pale ale.
The Rumiano Cheese Factory is another place to visit in Crescent City. This family-owned business was founded in 1919 by three Italian immigrants. The Rumiano brothers invented Monterey Dry Jack cheese during World War I and continue to produce unique cheeses today. While the brewery does not offer tours, it does feature a viewing window where visitors can see the process of making cheese. Visitors can purchase their own cheese and sample samples, and there’s also a restaurant nearby.
The oceanfront in Crescent City offers many outdoor activities. There’s also a marina and the Lighthouse Jetty, which protect the marina and waterfront. You can’t walk on the lighthouse, but it is easy to walk around the gate. And while you’re there, be sure to take a stroll down the waterfront. The view from here is fantastic!
Elk Valley Casinos
When you think of Crescent City, you may not immediately think of casinos. However, there are plenty of options for visitors to enjoy a fun and exciting casino gaming experience. Elk Valley Casinos is one of those options. It opened in 1995 and is supported by the Crescent City Council and the Del Norte County Board of Supervisors.
This casino is owned by the Elk Valley Rancheria Indians. It is a 36,000-square-foot venue located just off Highway 101. It is a newer version of the original Elk Valley Casino, which was opened in 1995. The new venue offers 300 slot machines, blackjack tables, poker, and more than a dozen other games. The property also features an event center and a poker room. It is large enough to host poker tournaments and bingo games.
There is also live entertainment, a restaurant, and meeting spaces. Elk Valley Casino is also the host of a casino show every Thursday. This venue also offers RV parking and wildlife viewing. The casino has a Roosevelt elk in its backyard. Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park
If you’re looking for a beautiful getaway close to the coast, consider a trip to Jedediah Smith Redwoods State park in Crescent City. The park protects 10,000 acres of primeval redwoods. Most of the park’s land is part of the watershed for the Smith River and Mill Creek, a spawning ground for Steelhead and King salmon. This area is home to an abundance of wildlife, including many rare species. Visitors can expect to see Bale Eagles, Pileated Woodpeckers, Marbled Murrelet, and a variety of birds. In addition, the park has several historic memorial groves.
Located in northern California, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State park is home to some of the state’s largest old-growth redwoods. Almost 7% of the world’s old-growth redwoods can be found in this park. This park is named for pioneer Jedediah Strong Smith, who donated a small parcel of land to the Save Redwoods League.

Beach Front Park

B Street Pier
The B Street Pier is a great place to spend an afternoon on the water. It stretches out over the waters of Crescent Harbor and into the Pacific Ocean. It offers sweeping views of the ocean, as well as the famous Battery Point Lighthouse. It’s also a popular spot for public crabbing. Visitors can bring small crab pots and not worry about acquiring a license. You can also occasionally see sea lions lazing around.
The Crescent City harbor area is located right next to the city’s south beach. You can rent surfboards and paddle boards to explore the waters. You can also go looking for sea shells, sand dollars, and driftwood. The town also has a large number of restaurants and bars, including the Port O’Pints Brewing Co.
The Battery Point Lighthouse is an iconic landmark in the city. It was first lit in 1856 and continues to be an operational lighthouse today. The lighthouse was also featured in the Tim McGraw video “Not a Moment Too Soon.” The lighthouse is open for tours at low tide and also features a museum run by the Del Norte Historical Society.
The B Street Pier is a great place to catch dungeonous crabs during the winter months. During this time, you can find plenty of crabs, crayfish, and other creatures in the water around the pier.
