Sigourney Park
Sigourney has plenty of recreational opportunities for families. The city is home to the Dumont Museum, a collection of antique toys and a Lionel train layout. There are also several playgrounds, horseshoe pits, and picnic shelters at Legion Park. The nearby Belva Deer Recreation Area is 1,669 acres of wilderness and offers camping, hiking, and fishing opportunities. You can also enjoy a day at the lake’s large beach area.
The town’s Lake Yenruogis County Park is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. The lake features bluegill, bass, and catfish. The park also features a boat ramp and fishing jetty.
For families with kids, Sigourney’s Legion Park has five picnic shelters, grills, a tennis court, and horseshoe pits. The town is also home to the Lockheed T-33A Shooting Star #58-0579, which is a World War II aircraft. It is located at the North East Corner of the Courthouse Lawn. The town also boasts a three-pooled fountain that features a rotating light show.
The historic district is another place to visit in Sigourney. A group of historic houses and an apartment building built in the 1890s were preserved here. The houses are made of brick and wood, and some have a brick first story and shingles on the second. The Victorian-style architecture, fanciful Queen Anne details, and sawn and turned woodwork make this an important example of nineteenth century urban planning.
Sigourney Square Park is the centerpiece of the Sigourney Square Historic District. The park is a full square block that is bordered by Sigourney, Ashley, and May Streets. Originally, the park had a circular path that wound around its four sides. Today, the park is an open space.

Sigourney Cafe is a wonderful place to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It offers a wide variety of dishes, as well as rotating daily specials. The cafe serves great coffee and food, with service that is both pleasant and friendly. Prices are reasonable, as well. You can dine outdoors or sit in a booth inside.
Sigourney is a small town, but it is home to a vibrant restaurant industry.
