The Plainview Water District is investing $54.5 million over the next five years into upgrading drinking water infrastructure, constructing new treatment systems, and removing 1,4-dioxane. In order to fund these investments, the district needs to generate additional revenues. Therefore, its water rates are increasing by an average of $8.82 per quarter, or about $2.94 per month for an average household.
The Plainview Water District has been working to rid its drinking water of 1,4-dioxane for nearly four years. The district continues to improve its systems and never stops working for the benefit of the people of the area. In fact, there are now six advanced oxidation process treatment systems online, making the district’s water safer to drink.
Plainview community parks
The Plainview community has many parks and playgrounds to offer. The city offers softball and baseball fields, including Pride Field, which is home to an American Legion team that has hosted state tournaments in the past. Plainview also has soccer fields and a football practice field. These sports facilities are often used by area youth for Friday night practice sessions.
