Donegal Presbyterian Church
The Donegal Presbyterian Church is a historic church complex located on Donegal Springs Road in East Donegal Township in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The church complex was built in 1732 and is a stuccoed stone building with a gambrel roof.
This historic church has a rich history of serving the community for nearly 300 years. It has done so with a great deal of imagination, intelligence and love, and it continues to serve its community to this day. Ruthann Dwyer, a deacon at the church, has seen the effects of shotgun planning in several churches.
In addition to the original building, the Donegal Presbyterian Church is planning an addition to the church for its growing congregation. The new sanctuary will sit partly below grade and overlook a natural spring on the church’s rural site. The new structure’s minimalistic design complements the sanctuary’s historic beauty.

In 1777, the Donegal Presbyterian Church was stopped in its worship by a messenger on horseback. The British were moving toward Philadelphia. After a brief discussion with the Reverend, he made a plea to the congregation to stand against the British. A few members of the congregation even fought in the Battle of Brandywine and the Revolutionary War.
Spangler’s Flour Mill
Located in the borough of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, Spangler’s Flour Mill has been in business for more than a century. It is one of the nation’s top ten milling companies. Its customers include the baking and pretzel manufacturing industries. The mill will continue to operate under the ownership of John Spangler. The current customers will continue to receive their products until July 1, when Bay State assumes control of the mill.
Located at 18 N Market St, Spangler’s Flour Mill in Mt. Joy is a historic building that has been undergoing numerous upgrades over the years. In 1994, a second milling unit was added to the mill complex, which allowed it to store more grain. Today, it is a thriving business in the community.
Bube’s Brewery
Offbeat Brewery is located in an historic 19th-century building and features American cuisine, karaoke, and art. The vibe is unique, and the beer is good. In addition to the brew, guests can enjoy the local art gallery. The atmosphere is lively and fun, so guests of all ages can enjoy the evening.
The brewery was closed down during Prohibition, but the descendants of the original owners were able to keep it. It was left empty until the late 1960s, when the Bube family remodeled it. Today, you can find original beer bottles and other items from the brewery’s past.
The historic brewery, which was founded by Alois Bube, has been a Mount Joy landmark for more than a century. Visitors can find a number of restaurants and bars, a museum featuring artifacts and a Victorian-style event hall. The restaurant hosts a wide variety of events, including themed dinners, medieval feasts, and jazz concerts.
The brewery is also a popular destination for locals, who enjoy the historical aspect of it. Its underground Catacombs Restaurant is a beer aging cellar that doubles as a fine dining restaurant. The venue hosts pirate-themed dinner parties and serves a variety of microbrews.

Bube’s Brewery opened in 1908. It was closed for the Prohibition Era, but the Bube family continued to operate the brewery until the late 1960s. In 2001, it was renovated and reopened to the public. Today, the brewery has a microbrewery and four restaurants.
