It is graded well, and wide enough for strollers. This trail is popular with locals and tourists. It’s also a great option for families with kids.
Hiking
Hiking in Liberty Lake is a great way to get outside and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The park is home to a network of great backcountry trails and a campground. There are also playgrounds and barbecue areas. A great day hike will take you around the lake and into the park’s wetlands.
One of the best ways to enjoy the lake is hiking the Liberty Lake Loop Trail. This trail does not completely circle the lake, but it closely follows Liberty Creek. It winds its way past marshes, deciduous woods, and patches of Western red cedar. After ascending a few switchbacks, you’ll reach the lake peak.
The trail begins at a primitive trail sign and climbs toward a major viewpoint. This viewpoint provides spectacular views of Liberty Lake and Mount Spokane. The trail then flattens out and offers a picnic area. The hike is about three miles long and has several sights worth seeing. To top it off, you’ll get to see a year-round waterfall.
To start your hike, park your car in the parking lot and head up to the trailhead. From there, you can take the Sam Hill Trail, which includes a series of 12 switchbacks and a beautiful view of Liberty Lake. You can also follow the Edith Hansen Trail, which stretches down to the lake’s shore. If you’re looking for more mileage, you can continue on the Mica Peak Trail for a few more miles and elevation gain.
Boating
Boating in Liberty Lake is a great way to spend a day outdoors. The lake has five miles of shoreline and is home to numerous recreation activities. You can rent a motor boat for $3 a day or camp in one of the 20 primitive campsites. The lake is also a great place to fish. You can pay to use the boat ramp by depositing your payment in an honor box.
Liberty Lake is a 708-acre, 1.1-square-mile lake located approximately 2.5 miles east of Spokane Valley and three miles from the Idaho border. The city of Liberty Lake is located about a quarter-mile north-northwest of the lake. The lake is also close to several parks and recreational areas.

Golfing
One of the things to do in Liberty Lake is play golf. There are several courses located nearby. Trailhead Golf Course is a nine-hole course located at 1102 North Liberty Lake Road. The course features trees lining the fairways and fourteen bunkers. The course is a perfect place for beginner golfers and is challenging enough for more experienced players.
Liberty Lake offers three municipal courses. Nearby, there are more than 25 public and private golf courses. GolfNow is a great resource for getting discounted tee times. Another place to play golf in Liberty Lake is Liberty Lake Golf Course. This public course in Spokane has recently been renovated. The course has wide fairways, strategically placed bodies of water, and white sand bunkers. The par-70 course measures 6,600 yards from the championship tees and is a great place to challenge your golf game. It also has a putting green, driving range, and full-service restaurant.
