Dahl’s Chainsaw Art Museum
Visiting Dahl’s Chainsaw Art Museum is an experience that you won’t forget. The brothers, Jordan and Jarrett, are internationally recognized chainsaw artists, and their pieces are created with local wood and the backdrop of the Black Hills. Each brother has a unique style, and each piece is an expression of their own individuality.
Located in Keystone, this museum showcases the works of Jarrett Dahl, a chainsaw artist and award-winning artist. This museum features chainsaw sculptures up to 25 feet tall and live demonstrations. Jarrett Dahl talks about his inspiration and his craft in his daily live demonstrations.
If you have ever been in Keystone, South Dakota, you’ve probably noticed the unique pieces of art being created using a chainsaw. Many of these pieces can be found for sale, or you can commission one of your own. You’ll be able to find an original piece or commission a carving for a special occasion.
Visitors can also see the world’s largest chainsaw carving, Billie, on Dec. 19. Billie is a 23-foot tall piece of chainsaw art that took eight days to complete. It is expected to change slightly over time to reflect the artist’s vision. The story behind Billie was inspired by a local commission and a friend of Dahl’s in Kentucky.
