There are six miles of hiking trails in the area. Many of them were built by the CCC. They also include benches with the CCC logo. Most of the trails are dog friendly. The only exception is the Nopales Ridge Trail, which is designed for cycling. Pets are not allowed on this trail. Visitors can also enjoy water sports at Lake Brownwood. Boating, jet skiing, and paddleboarding are among the many popular activities on the lake. The lake also hosts yearly swim classes and features several pavilions.

The Harvey House also contains a visitors’ center, a gift shop, and a Gordon Wood Hall of Champions, dedicated to the renowned Texas high school coach.
