Batesville is home to several community centers and recreational facilities popular with tourists and locals alike. The Batesville Community Center and Aquatic Park on 20th Street offers a full size gymnasium, indoor swimming pools, and a heated whirlpool. In addition, the outdoor aquatics park is a big hit with the younger crowd. It’s the perfect place to cool off when the summer heat is unbearable.

Melba Theater

The Melba Theater in Batesville, Arkansas, has been around since 1940. This Streamline Moderne movie house features a triangular marquee and a large vertical sign flush against the facade. Neon letters spell out the theater’s name. This historic theater was one of the first in Arkansas to show CinemaScope movies.

This movie theater is a popular attraction in Batesville. Concessions are available inside the theater, and movies are shown several times a month at a low cost. The city’s Riverside Park features five pavilions and two playgrounds. History buffs can also check out the Old Independence Regional Museum on 9th Street. Its exhibits showcase pioneer culture and prehistoric artifacts.

Judge Reinhold will be making an appearance at the Melba Theater in Batesville on Dec. 16. He co-stars as Neal in the film “The Santa Clause.” He is also known for his work on the Beverly Hills Cop, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and Seinfeld series. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the actor. The screening is a benefit for the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches.

Old Independence Regional Museum

The Old Independence Regional Museum is located in the former National Guard Armory at 380 South Ninth Street in Batesville, Arkansas. This large sandstone building was built in 1936 and is adorned with Art Deco and Gothic Revival elements. It features a collection of military artifacts that are unique to this area.

In addition to the military exhibits, the museum also features artifacts from the area’s history. For example, the museum is home to a Civil War diorama, a Lockkeeper’s house, and a Corps of Engineers work barn. Visitors can experience the rich history of the White River by exploring the museum’s exhibits, including the Corps’ work barn and the Lockkeeper’s house. The museum is open daily and offers varying programs and events.

The Old Independence Regional Museum is located in the historic National Guard Armory and features both changing and permanent exhibits. It opened in 1998 and has approximately 19,000 artifacts in its collection. These include photographs, textiles, tools, and public records. The museum and National Guard Armory are both listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The museum hosts a number of exhibits that are curated by the museum’s curators. An upcoming exhibit on Lyon College’s history will feature artifacts from the College’s earliest days. It will also detail key events that occurred over the College’s 150-year history. It will also feature complimentary text panels and highlight notable alumnae.

Kings Island

If you want to thrill yourself, you can head to Kings Island. This amusement park is located about 24 miles north of Cincinnati. It is operated by Cedar Fair. It opened in 1972 and is a popular tourist destination along the Ohio River. The park is famous for its roller coasters and water park. It offers 80 rides and 15 different roller coasters. The park also has a water park with 33 acres.
