Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings and spot snakes, chipmunks, and other creatures.

Located on Westfall Road in Altamont, the 214-acre Bozen Kill Preserve is managed by the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy. Yesterday, the preserve was still covered with snow, but warmer temperatures had made much of it melt. While the Bozen Kill Creek remained cold, the trail that follows it was not. The path follows the creek and bends away from the road.

Bozen Kill Preserve is a nature preserve that is a great place to take kids. It’s easy to follow, has great signage, and is flat with no steep points. Families with young children will enjoy the nature preserve and explore the many animals that inhabit the area.

For a hike or trail run, take in the autumn scenery at the Bozen Kill Preserve, a part of the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy. This scenic area includes a waterfall and several slow pools. There are also several trails for biking and snowshoeing.

Located on the Helderberg Escarpment, which is one of the world’s richest fossil-bearing formations, Thacher Park is a wonderful outdoor destination. It offers breathtaking views of the Hudson-Mohawk Valleys and the Adirondack Mountains. With more than twenty miles of hiking trails, the park is an ideal place to relax or spend a day. The park is also home to a wide variety of interpretive programs throughout the year. You can even get a guided tour of the park’s Indian Ladder Trail.

The northeastern boundary of the park is an escarpment made of limestone, shale, and sandstone. The escarpment is the northernmost part of the Allegheny Plateau, a mountain range that spans the state of New York. The escarpment is the largest landform in New York and is the source of many of the state’s rivers.

The Helderberg Escarpment is composed of a limestone core and contains fossils from the Silurian and Devonian eras. Early studies on these fossils were done in this area and laid the foundation for modern paleontology and geology. From the park’s parking lot, you can walk through the park’s woods and trails. Once you reach the summit, you’ll have a breathtaking view of Vermont.
