The building that houses Nelson’s Ice Cream originally served as a corner grocery. It was purchased by the Nelson family in 1947. Before that, they also owned Brown’s Ice Cream in Minneapolis. Initially, they served Cedar Crest ice cream, but soon became a distributor for other brands.
