The Lochmoor CLUB is a century-old country club located in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. This private golf club features a championship golf course and a modern clubhouse with elegant dining options. The club is also the perfect venue for a small or large wedding. Wedding ceremonies can be held outside or inside, and you can choose between cocktail receptions or seated dinners.

The Lochmoor Club was designed by renowned “Golden Age” architect Walter Travis. Its members include the two Dodge brothers and Edsel Ford. These automotive giants helped to make the Lochmoor CLub possible. The club owes its existence to these men.

The village was incorporated in 1879. Its boundaries were 200 feet east of Alter Road and 500 feet south of Mack Avenue. Its boundaries were shortened when it was annexed to Detroit. The township also included the property that is located between Fisher Road and Weir Lane.

The Lochmoor CLUB was one of the first places to play golf in the area. The club’s club house burned in 1924. The clubhouse was rebuilt in 1969, and four indoor tennis courts were added to the facility. In 1989, the club house was expanded to include a men’s lounge and mixer grill.

Hunt Club

St. Paul Catholic Church

Located at 157 Lake Shore Road in the Detroit suburb of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, the Saint Paul Catholic Church Complex features an 18th-century French Gothic church, Neo-Tudor rectory, Colonial Revival parish hall, Elizabethan Revival convent, and Elizabethan Revival school building. All are architectural treasures.

The church’s floor plan is cross-shaped, with a five-sided apse and many small windows along each side wall. There are eight smaller nave windows, and a large circular rose window over the front entrance. Other features include the steeply pitched moldings, carved wooden doors, and a vaulted ceiling. The interior walls are a muted beige color.

Designed by a prominent architectural firm, the Saint Paul Catholic Church Complex is located at 157 Lake Shore Road, between Grosse Pointe Boulevard and Lake Shore Road. The complex features a Neo-Tudor style church, a Colonial Revival parish hall, and an Elizabethan Revival convent.

A man walking his dog on a weekend in Grosse Pointe Woods was attacked and dragged to a white van. The 20-year-old victim was walking in the 2100 block of Lennon Street when he was attacked. Fortunately, the victim was able to hit the suspect, but his dog was a serious injury.
