Wooldridge Creek Winery

Wooldridge Creek Winery is located on the north side of Grants and is easily accessible by car or bike. Its owners, Ted and Mary Warrick, moved to Grants in 1977 from Los Angeles. They took their spotted dog, two cats, and eleven-year-old daughter, Chrys, with them. They initially camped out in a camper shell on the farm and eventually built a log cabin home, where they tended their growing menagerie of animals and grapevines.
Maggie Daley Park
Maggie Daley Park is a multilevel urban park in the downtown area. It is easily accessible by car, but beware of getting lost if you do not know your way around. The park is not easy to navigate on foot, and you may get disoriented if you don’t follow the directions on the signs or reset your GPS. A more convenient method is to take the L train. You can get off at the Lake Street stop on the Red Line, transfer to the Purple Line at Howard Street, or use the Blue Line’s Washington stop.
The park is known as the front yard of the city, and is home to the world-famous Cloud Gate and a 40-foot rock climbing wall. The park is also a popular destination for families, and visitors can enjoy concerts and outdoor movies in the park. Guests are also welcome to visit the nearby Art Institute of Chicago.

Josephine County Fair
If you like old-fashioned fairs, you’ll love the Josephine County Fair in Grants. This annual event runs from Aug. 14 to 17 and features a wide variety of activities, from rides to equestrian events. There are also craft booths and 4-H barns where you can see prized livestock. The fair also features free concerts held in Riverside Park.
Visitors can enjoy the fair for free, but make sure you plan ahead because parking is limited. You’ll have to carpool or take a free shuttle from Rogue Community College to get to the fairgrounds. The fair’s director is keen on making it as fun and educational as possible.
