Forest Park is a park in Queens, New York that spans 538 acres. It is the city’s third largest park and the tenth largest overall. It was founded on August 9, 1895, originally known as Brooklyn Forest Park. There are many different things to see and do in Forest Park.
St. Louis Shakespeare Festival

St. Louis Zoo

The zoo was established in 1904 and is free to visitors. It houses over 14,000 animals in six separate zones. There’s also the Primate House, which dates back to 1925, and the Charles H. Hoessle Herpetarium, which was completed in 1927.
Forest Park is also home to iconic destinations such as the World’s Fair Pavilion, the Jewel Box flower conservatory, and the Emerson Grand Basin. During spring and summer, guests can rent boats at the Boathouse or take a tour of the park’s scenic wetlands. The park also has two public golf courses, the Dwight Davis Tennis Center, Steinberg Skating Rink, and other recreational facilities for the entire family.
The Missouri History Museum, which opened in 1913, is also located in Forest Park. In 2010, the museum started a major expansion project. This renovation project was led by architect David Chipperfield and created a new lower-level gallery. The new building will add about 200,000 square feet. The grounds around the museum include lily ponds and rose gardens.
During summer, the zoo has a number of attractions and events. For example, Dinoroarus will be open daily until Oct. 31. Tickets are required, but the attraction features a 12-foot-tall t-rex and a life-size triceratops. In addition, the zoo has several educational attractions for children.

The Martha’s Country Bakery, located at 70-28 Austin St., was shut down after inspectors found flies, contaminated surfaces, and unclean clothing and linens. In addition to its Queens locations, the company also has locations in Astoria, Forest Park, and Bayside.
