Bascom has excellent air quality and is a great place for families. There are several parks and playgrounds in the area. Everett Alvarez Jr. Park, Willow Street Frank Bramhall Park, and Westfield Family Play Space are a few of the options. These recreational facilities are ideal for kids, but adults can also enjoy them as well. Families can enjoy picnics during the warmer months and take walks along the trails on weekends.

The Bascom, OH community is home to several different Parks. Meadowbrook Park features 130 acres of camping, picnicking, swimming, and disk golf. Campgrounds in Bascom offer many different activities and a great view. They also have plenty of available spots, with some trees in the C portion and more in the south circles. There are also clean restrooms, which are perfect for families. The Bascom campground bathhouse is also clean and well maintained.
Bascom’s passion for geology grew after his father took him on a trip to Kentucky’s Mammoth Cave. The trip inspired him to continue studying and pursue a career in science. He had never been interested in science as a child, but he was inspired by the experience. A year later, Bascom returned to the UW, earning another bachelor’s degree in science and a master’s in geology. He was eventually recruited to the prestigious Bryn Mawr College, where he spent the rest of his life protecting the geology department. The college president threatened to close the geology department due to low enrollment, so Bascom spent much of her career fighting for the department.
