Inflammation from arthritis is incredibly painful, whether it be osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is cause by inflamed cartilage and joints of any area of the body containing joints. Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disease that is an autoimmune disorder causing your body to attack its tissue, this is more rare, but can be found in people of any age.

Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne peppers have an active ingredient called capsaicin, that will help in easing pain.

Get two dried cayenne peppers and grind them into a powder with a mortar or even use a rolling pin on a smooth surface. In a mixing bowel; pour the powder, 4 tablespoons of olive oil, and 5 drops of ylangylang essential oil, rosemary essential oil, or eucalyptus essential oil for fragrance and calming effect.

Exercise

Gentle 20-30 minute exercise is important for those suffering from arthritis.

Try doing tai chi, swimming, walking, or yoga, all of these help range of motion and circulation, improving the joints and slowing down cartilage loss.

Aromatherapy

While taking your daily hot bath add 10 drops of eucalyptus essential oil, 10 drops of rosemary essential oil, or 5 drops each with a tablespoon of olive oil as a buffer to protect skin. This will help relieve pain from stiff joints. Soak for at least 15 minutes, for full effect.
